Last week i wrote a post about the blocking of the opening of Ici Bistro, based on a Toronto Star article which discussed how Joe Pantalone was actively blocking the opening of a restaurant by one of the top chefs in the city, J. P. Challet. […]

Lower Ossington Theatre and the Fringe

There are a few places on Ossingon I haven’t been yet. And the Lower Ossington Theatre, until tonight, was one of them. It always looks tempting, but, from the street, it looks like s small, cramped space. With the Fringe on, we ventured into to see Red Machine, Part 1, one of the Fringe Festival plays. […]

It’s not just Ossington – Mr Pantalone is against entrepreneurs.

Joe Pantalone’s reach to shut down and curb entrepreneurship extends farther than Ossington. Today I learned from Melissa Davis of YDF in her post documenting her visit last night to the new restaurant. […]

When will Ideal Coffee have WiFi?

One of my favourite places on the Ossington strip is Ideal Coffee. They always have pleasant staff, and it’s a good place to just hang out, read and even meet other locals. I’ve been frequenting Ideal since we moved into the neighbourhood, and even before while we were building our house down the street. But one of the things I’ve never understood is why the cafe doesn’t have WiFi? […]
