It’s on again! The famous Ossington Village Alleyway Party you may have heard about is back again. It takes place in the laneway between Foxley and Argyle this Sunday the 16th and with a great line-up of bands, entertainment, dancing, food, drink, children’s games, a clothing exchange and much more.
There will be neighbours (like us) barbequing out of their garage. Bring some food to share, bring some drinks, or whatever you think worth sharing. This year there will be a clothing exchange, so if you have something you don’t wear any more, but you think someone else might like, bring that along too. Most of all bring along your sense of community and fun!
Below is the poster for the event.
If you live along the lane, and have any questions or concerns, or even want your garage painted by a local artist contact Michael, the organizer, whose email is on the poster, or you can find him (and RSVP if you want) on the Facebook event here.
The music lineup includes a world tour of cultures and sounds including:
- A folk dance workshop with Tangi Ropars and Stephania Woloshyn of Lemon Bucket Orkestra
- Michael Louis Johnson & the Red Rhythm (you may know them from Saturday afternoons at the Communist’s Daughter)
- Flamenguitos Del Norte
- Maracatu Mar Aberto
- Rambunctious
- Ventanas
- Maria Bonita & the band
- Freeman Dre & the Kitchen Party
- & Lemon Bucket Orkestra
Some of you may remember last year where there was a bit of every kind of weather from beautiful sun to pouring rain. Here’s a few videos taken to bring you back to last year and remind you why you want to come to this year’s event and enjoy the afternoon and evening.
