Ossington Businesses Expand Across the City

We recently posted about how many Vancouver businesses are expanding to Ossington. But the trend goes outward from Ossington, too, not as far as Vancovuer – yet. More and more Ossington-founded businesses are expanding across Toronto – maybe the rest of the country – and beyond – is coming next.

Pizza Libretto

The first and biggest, Toronto’s favorite pizzeria started expanding before any of these other guys. Now Pizzeria Libretto has 4 outposts across the city, and the Ossington location is still open for lunch and dinner.

JunkedJunked Social post

This epic snack shop/caterer opened almost 2 years ago in the small storefront at 1256 Dundas West near Dovercourt. The Junked team announced, via social media, their plans to open a downtown shop at 507 Queen Street West. Expect the opening to feature new combinations of your favorite “junk” foods sometime soon!

We are still hoping this is an expansion and not a move. A lot of people love this spot on Dundas West. With choices ranging from savory to sweet and combos of both, Junked offers it all, and soon downtown workers and residents will taste for themselves.

Mamakas

Ossington got its first Greek full-service restaurant when Mamakas opened 2 1/2 years ago at 80 Ossington. Soon, those of us who don’t plan ahead and can’t get into the often-booked restaurant will be able to try the fast-casual version when chef/owner Thanos Tripi opens his Queen West takeout outpost this year. The space, to be called Agora, was announced last fall and is pending.

Oddseoul

Oddseoul has been in business on Ossington 4 years, opened Hanmoto just around the corner in 2015, and are expanding again! From Korean snack food at Oddesoul to Japanese at Hanmoto, they will move to Vietnamese food with Pinkys Ca Phe at College and Clinton, opening soon.

Pinkys Instagram Post

Let’s hope 2017 brings more of this successful trend for Ossington restaurants.
