halogoHungry Amoo has opened on Ossington. Nestled in a block of good restaurants, with stalwart Union and the newer Te among them, the boite fills a long unused space at 74 Ossington. As mentioned in our previous post, it’s led by chef-owner Houman Pourmarz who has a good base of Toronto restaurant experience.

We stopped in last night for a drink at the bar and chatted with the very friendly bartender, Ben.  We didn’t try any food yet but the card is a good mix of nibbles and sharing plates.

The interior surprised us. Long and narrow is the norm, but this space goes very far back, with lots of seating. Comfortable seating too, at the bar and the tables. The front of the restaurant is dominated by two long communal tables, then there’s the bar area, and the back is filled with groups of smaller tables along the wall.

Hungry Amoo is in soft opening mode. Last night was only the second night of service, so join them this weekend or next week while they make their way through the new menu. Get to know them! Everyone we met last night was very nice, the space is very nice too! Welcome them to Ossington Village!
