This June, we’ve already addressed many new business opening soon and a few closings in Ossington Village. There are more changes, including some restaurant and retail news in Ossington Village.
Mr. Flamingo Closed for Renovations
It was recently reported that Dundas West restaurant Mr. Flamingo closed for good. Not true, Mr. Flamingo says on Instagram, chiding the source: it’s only closed for renovations. The popular neighborhood restaurant and bar at 1265 Dundas West is closed temporarily and will be back serving food and drinks in August.
Studio Gang is Closed
112 Ossington is now empty: Studio Gang vacated the premises and shut down operations. This fashion boutique run by designer Deborah Korosec was open in the Ossington space for for over 15 years. This closing of one of Ossington’s oldest businesses marks a real end of an era for the strip. Ossington is evolving and we are living through it.
Area+001 coming to Ossington
38 Ossington is getting what looks to be another fashion retailer in Area+001. A coming soon sign is posted on the windows of the former home to Williams Craig. Based on the brands listed on the Area+001 website, the store will be selling men’s and women’s contemporary fashions from Europe and the U.S.
The store’s website doesn’t have a lot of information, so we’ll keep an eye out for any further news regarding opening dates for Area001.
