Dundas and Ossington will soon have a new Chinese restaurant with SoSo Food Club opening at 1166 Dundas Street West.
About SoSo Food Club
The space on the north side of Dundas west of Ossington was formerly occupied by hipster sports bar The Contender. It’s a large venue, now converted into a hipster Chinese lounge.
When you are out on the street, you’ll notice the new bright teal paint on the exterior of 1166 Dundas West, just west of Ossington Stop. They’ve redecorated inside too, with banquettes in the same bright shade of blue.
SoSo Food Club will serve dumplings and other regional dishes alongside wine, beer and cocktails. The new spot has more of a bar/lounge feel than a typical restaurant. Expect a dance floor and a clubby vibe after 10PM. SoSo will be a music venue for the NXNE Clubland series in June: on Thursday June 24th. Jayemkayem curates that show.
SoSo Food Club Opening Soon
SoSo Food Club is in soft opening right now with small private events, and will open to the public this Wednesday night. After that, they’ll be open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday nights, and as a music venue at least sometimes.
