We thought it had already happened ages ago, since everytime we walked by it was shut, but now it’s official: Beau Lieu Bistro, the cute little French bistro with big portions at 59 Ossington, is now closed. The restaurant was open less than 2 years, since September 2010. Below is the message on their website:
There is no explanation for the closing, but it never seemed open on nights that are usually busy for restaurants (Thursday-Saturday). It could have been hurt by the relative lack of hype in the press compared to practically every other spot on the street. Whatever the reason, we wish the proprietors and staff good luck in the future.
I don’t think I ever saw anyone eating in there…
