Although we were teased for almost a year on the opening of Union on Ossington, we hear that the opening of Boehmer (or Bohmer, or Böhmer) is coming soon.
They have a facebook page with over 390 followers already and some recent discussion. In a May Toronto Life Article the chef describes is vision, and also suggests a summer opening. One supposes, with the strike affecting permit issues and other normal restaurant delays.
We are looking forward to the opening, excited at yet another place to eat on our street.
I may be criticized here for saying this, but “local cuisine”? Hasn’t that been done? I think Torontonians might soon be looking for lettuce imported from Lithuania, and Tilapia shipped fresh from Tazmania.
