The annual Toronto Design Offsite Festival (TO DO) brings design to untraditional spaces across the city, including places right here in Ossington Village. The festival runs from January 16-22 with events and exhibitions. Here’s what to do at TO DO Ossington Village.

Alma at Saudade
Dundas West Portuguese design shop Saudade gets involved in TO DO with authentic handmade needlepoint in the Portuguese historic style. The wall coverings will decorate Saudade as of Tuesday, January 17 through the end of the festival, Sunday the 22nd.

Feltro Playspace Hosted by Gravitypope
The store at the southwest corner Queen and Ossington invites you to come in and play with these large magnetic felt tiles during TO DO. Free admission daily to their lower level playspace, beginning Monday, January 16.

Lyrical at WC The Store
Williams Craig Design is bringing a special exhibition to their Ossington Avenue store for TO DO. Whether you are browsing inside or just walking by on Ossington, you’ll be able to experience the window installation display “Lyrical“. The music box scrolls will reflect the light and shadows and change shapes as it does.

Models & Drawings at Artscape Youngplace
Visit Artscape this week for model and speculative work built by Toronto architecture and landscape design studio Polymétis. The free exhibit highlights what can be done in modern architecture.

OFF COURSE: Work in Progress by Design Students at OCADU at Gallery
Explore what the students at OCAD U are up to at this week-long exhibit featuring 17 student’s works. Not only will you be able to see their works in progress, you will be able to talk with the students as they are working through print, prototype and full-scale models. They want viewers to engage and provide feedback as they integrate public feedback into their graduation projects.

On The Table at Get Well
Dundas West bar Get Well, along with a number of other bars in Toronto, is a host for this project focusing on sexual harassment and gender-based violence in public space. Visit Get Well this week from Monday through Sunday to see the themed artworks printed on coasters in the participating bars and restaurants. Cool tip: there are 4 sets of coasters, each by a different artist, and patrons are encouraged to take them and collect them!

Shelter Bay x Stylegarage
Ossington design and furniture store Stylegarage presents a shoppable exhibit with lights from Toronto design studio Shelter Bay, all week in the store.

Uncovering Toronto’s Creative Spaces with SpaceFinder Toronto and Milk Glass Co.
Local gallery and space Milk Glass Co partners with SpaceFinder to help artists find their space and rent it for events and exhibits. This one night event, on Wednesday from 6-8pm, offers you the chance to hear from artists on how they uncover and utilize hidden spaces.
