Lots to Do at Ossfest 2018

Ossfest is this Saturday, and we’ve got information on way more Ossfest 2018 events at the annual street festival.

In addition to all the fun activities we’ve already revealed, there is an action packed schedule of events to keep you, your family and friends occupied on Saturday, July 28th.

Ossington Avenue between Queen and Dundas will be closed to traffic for the annual street festival this Saturday from 8am until 11pm.

Chili Dog Eating Contest

Ossington’s resident hot dog purveyor Kung Fu Dawg is hosting a chili dog eating contest! Sign up now to participate and definitely stop by with your camera to watch the action as local eaters try to win the prize of most chili dogs eaten. Contest begins at 4pm, and the Kung Fu stand is located at the southern end of Ossington in the lot just past Jimmy’s Coffee.

Scavenger Hunt

This event was so popular last year, we had to bring it back! The Ossfest scavenger hunt will get you to explore all the crannies of the street fest and meet a lot of the merchants and business owners, all with the chance of winning great prizes. Details to be announced on Saturday.

Unlock the Box

This year, the Ossington BIA introduces a new opportunity to win prizes during Ossfest. Bring a “day of” receipt from a store or restaurant on Ossington, take a selfie on the street, or sign up for the newsletter to play the game. Each participant will get a key to try to “unlock the box” for a prize inside. Check at the Ossington BIA tent for more details on Saturday!

Acroyoga

After the free meditation and yoga morning sessions, try a free Acroyoga class on Ossington. The class, led by Acro Anya, incorporates acrobatics, yoga and thai massage. Sound interesting? It’s free, but register to reserve your space!

Superkick’d Pro Wrestling Ring

Professional wrestlers from Superkick’d will take over the ring for a few matches throughout the day, and you can expect them to be as popular as they were at last year’s festival.
