The annual Jane’s Walk weekend is coming up, where anyone anywhere can lead a walk on any topic, and anyone can join the walk for free. Since Toronto was the home to Jane Jacobs, the inspiration for these walks, Toronto is also the home to a large number of these free walks this weekend. Here are some local Jane’s Walks you can join this coming weekend, in and around the Ossington Village area.

Made in Canada – Behind the Scenes Tour

Members of the Trinity Bellwoods BIA lead a walk along Dundas West into some local businesses. Try some locally made chocolate, beer and more! Saturday, May 5th from 2-4PM.

Vanished Buildings in Trinity-Bellwoods Park

Learn about the history of our local park with author Jon Harstone. This walk focuses on the history of the park and the bridges and buildings of the past. Sunday, May 6th from 1:30-3PM.

Landscape Archaeology of Garrison Creek

Harstone leads another walk about the buried creek underneath our homes, streets and parks. Running from Christie Pits to Trinity Bellwoods, he’ll show you all the clues to the creek below. Saturday, May 5th from 1:30-3PM.

Uncovering the Tales and Treasures of Ossington

We are leading a walk with the Ossington BIA this weekend. Join us as we tell tales about Ossington history, businesses and show off some of the great art on display on the street and in the alleyways.  Saturday, May 5th from 4-5:30PM.

Let us know if you hear of any other local Jane’s Walks.
