We are sad to announce that the Alley Party scheduled for Sunday October 22nd has been cancelled. The city of Toronto contacted organizers today to inform us that without a permit we will be immediately shut down by police. Despite the fact that for the past 6 years, the party has not impeded any vehicles getting to or from their garages, and noise has been kept to a minimum with cut off time at 10pm, we are still being told it is not allowed. We will try again next year, but may need to hire police and get a permit – thus over doubling the expenses for the event.
This is very disappointing for all of us organizing the event, and the musicians scheduled to perform. We would love to have done it, but someone contacted the city and they are making it impossible to move forward with the plans.
