New Year’s Eve is the biggest party night of the year, and Ossington Village is a great place to celebrate it! It’s a few weeks away: we have a rundown of the events that are already planned. A lot of venues haven’t released their schedules yet, so we’ll update here, and in our calendar.
The Dakota Tavern, catl New Year’s Eve, 10PM
Toronto blues-rock band catl is back for another rocking New Year’s show at The Dakota Tavern. Two sets by catl, plus Eamon McGrath and DJs will have you dancing through the countdown. Buy your tickets now for $20 and you’ll be assured a good night of music and fun at one of Toronto’s best music venues.
The Garrison, Chronologic New Year’s Eve, 9:30PM
Chronologic’s annual New Year’s Eve gala at the Garrison usually sells out, so get your tickets early. DJs Goin’ Steady roll through the decades until the midnight modern music countdown – they play all the hits from the past and today. If you want to dance your way into the New Year, this is the crowd for you. Tickets do sell out, and are available for $25 online and at Soundscapes and Rotate This.
Bunda Lounge/Ufficio NYE
This collaboration piques our interest: Bunda Lounge and Ufficio are partnering with each other and with Toastr for New Year’s Eve parties this year. This is interesting: both businesses are on Dundas West, one is a chill bar/lounge and the other an Italian restaurant. The Facebook event lays out more details:
- One ticket = entry to both Dundas West venues – Bunda at 1108 Dundas, just east of Ossington, and Ufficio at 1214 Dundas West
- Bunda will open at 9:30PM and feature DJs playing house, hip-hop and more – The Dance Club party
- Ufficio opens at 11PM and the music will be techy and lyrical – The Lounge Vibe party
- Cover for both parties is $10 – pay once, go to both venues
The Painted Lady New Year’s Eve Party, 10PM
Tickets are on sale for The Painted Lady’s annual New Year’s Eve party. It’ll cost you $10 to enjoy two DJs – DJ Chocolate and Selecta Spiceygad – two burlesque dancers – Honey B. Hind and Rubie Magnitude – and champagne at midnight. Bring your friends and dance the night away at The Painted Lady on Ossington.
The Ossington New Year’s Eve Bash, 10PM
The Ossington will be packed with revellers dancing to DJ Big Jimmy Mills. Advance tickets are available for $20, or $25 at the door. The entrance fee includes snacks and a midnight champagne toast.
Additionally, there are local restaurants serving special meals if you want to go out for a nice dinner.
Mr. Flamingo, 3 course prix fixe dinner
Dundas West restaurant Mr. Flamingo is offering a 3 course prix fixe sharing menu on New Year’s Eve. To go with the dinner, there will be 2 DJs playing from 10:30PM.
Carolina Cookout At Smoke Signals BBQ
Dundas West barbecue joint Smoke Signals is going to fill your belly on New Year’s Eve with good ol’ Carolina style barbecue. Reserve now, if they aren’t already booked for the 6PM and 9PM All You Can Eat seatings. End the year with a full stomach of meat!
Soos, Regular Menu All Night Long
If you want some of that good Malaysian food that Soos Restaurant is known for, make a reservation now. They are serving off the regular menu all night and you should call now.
