Update:
This updates an old post we wrote last week on the closing of Delux. There’s new news.
We heard from the team at Delux that they are redecorating the location to be closer in style to their Ronci location, La Cubana. For those who haven’t been yet, La Cubana continues the Cuban tradition, but in a more diner and small dish style. I’m sure it will be slightly different given the different kitchen layouts, but the decor will be more tiled and quick-serve. For those who haven’t been to La Cubana and want an idea of what the menu might look like here’s their menu.
One of the original Ossington restaurants, Delux has been serving delicious Cuban fare, amazing steak frites, great weekend brunches, and, of course, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip cookies for over 6 years. We learned today that Delux will close as of next Friday. The good news is, the owners and chef are not leaving. They tweeted us this evening that they have some plans to make some changes at 92 Ossington, but will still be there:
Maybe it will be a Cuban diner similar to their newer place on Roncesvalles. Let’s just be happy that the team behind Delux, most importantly, chef Corinna Mozo, will remain on Ossington.
Before Delux closes, stop by for their last brunch services this Saturday and Sunday, and the final dinner service will be on Friday, June 13th. Last chance for that chocolate chip cookie!
