Summerworks 2013 Festival

summerworkslogoDo you enjoy music or theatre and like to see it in a great neighborhood at reasonable prices? Well, here’s your chance to see some great live theatre and/or music, because Summerworks is back!

Summerworks is Canada’s largest juried festival, and offers a full 10 days of predominantly new Canadian plays, with added doses of musical performance, concerts, live art and a performance bar.

Many of the Summerworks events are happening nearby – aren’t we lucky? The Lower Ossington Theatre is a hub, and the Great Hall and Black Box Theatre at Queen and Dovercourt are venues as well. Nearby Trinity Bellwoods Park features a performer inviting people to tackle him. According to his sign, the tickets to do that are only $1.

Offerings at the LOT range from a nightly performance bar, many many plays, including the buzzworthy How Can I Forget? starring artists-in-residence Ben Kamino and Sook-Yin Lee, and a travelling music show with The Wooden Sky.

Summerworks runs August 8 -18, and single tickets are $15, or several varieties of multi-show passes are available.
