We got a preview in December and loved it. This Wednesday, we will finally get to enjoy the food full time, as Cote de Boeuf officially opens for good at 130 Ossington Avenue.
We were fortunate to attend a sneak preview at last night’s opening party, and we got to try lots of tasty treats. This is definitely a carnivore’s delight, with meat aging in the front locker, and sausages, duck and chicken, terrines, and the absolutely stellar beef tartare.
The team from Union Restaurant is behind this new butcher, charcuterie and cheese shop. Teo tells us they’ll also offer seasonal produce starting this spring, and hot sandwiches and prepared foods will be alongside the meat, jam and cheese. Maybe we should stop cooking now!
The twitterverse is already active with eager foodies ready for their share, but you’ll have to wait until Wednesday. Last night was a test-run, and everything seemed to be working fine. The sausages and foie gras terrine were big hits. We’ll probably see some sell-outs, and expect the spot to be busy on sunny summer weekends. There was some talk of Bellwoods/Cote de Boeuf combos, and lots of chatter about how we need a place like this in our growing neighborhood.
Here are some photos to get your taste buds excited. See you there!
