Update: Walking by today we noticed a sign that says it will open this upcoming Tuesday. There are also hours posted in the window. It’s for early risers with weekday openings at 7am. They will also be serving Ideal Coffee, according to a sticker in the window.
It looks like the empty space which once housed Le Bar au Soupe will not be empty much longer. In fact, there is a big “Opening Soon” sign for the new cafe, called Crepes and More. It looks redesigned inside, with a coffee bar and tables and chairs and could be a unique addition to our neighborhood that would fill a void for convenient, “fast” food.
Have you seen there’s some kind of “restobar” going in on the west side of the street, on the northern block of the strip – between the dry cleaner and the fish store, I think. Any word on that yet? Also it looks like the frame store is going out of business. I wonder if there’s anything set to go in that space yet. Great blog – glad you’re doing this.

Hi Stephanie,
Thanks! I think you are talking about Our House, at 214 Ossington, which we wrote about a few weeks ago: https://ossingtonvillage.com/2010/02/activity-at-214-ossington/ It looks like it’s opening is imminent. We are on the lookout for that one and will let you know. Keep on reading and commenting.

There’s a sign in the window of Our House that says “now open” has anyone been in?

Last night. Check out the comments on the “Activity at 214 Ossington” post. I put a little note there about it.

Went to Crepes and More this morning and think it should be renamed to ‘Crepes and More Money’. Three crepes and two coffees came out to just under $35. For real. And the crepes are served in paper wrappers – not even a plate. I don’t suspect they will last long. You can get much better breakfast at Luna for the same price (or possibly cheaper).

Still cannot buy an onion or a tomato on Ossington.
The logo for Crepes and More looks a little too corporate for my liking.

I agree with Karen. Over priced and underwhelming. Crepes (cold and made in advance) served on tiny paper plates with plastic cutlery. I really wanted my money back. They were not very good. The staff was a family (mom and kids?). They bickered the whole time and were not very warm and welcoming. Not going back! 🙁 too bad because I really love crepes.
