Another Ossington Parade – Assumption of Mary

On Sunday, Ossington was closed again for another parade. An annual affair in our neighbourhood the local Portuguese celebrate the assumption of Mary, which includes a parade that goes along Foxley, back across Argyle and ends at the local church.

Not speaking the language I don’t fully understand all what goes on at the festival but a lot of the neighbourhood people are involved. The party continues on into the night at the Osler Playground.

It had a more sombre tone than the parade on Friday, but there were a lot of participants.
