As the mad rush for shopping for family and friends hits it’s pace, we are grateful for our lucky proximity to one of the city’s retail destinations. It used to be we went to Queen West, but now Ossington and Dundas West is a prime spot for shopping. As we all have someone to buy something for, we toured some of the local shops to show you unique gift ideas.
Annie Aime moved to Ossington last spring, and has loads of cute and cheerful gifts for adults and children. Many of the merchandise is top quality design imported from Europe, and not commonly found in Toronto, but there is also some local goods on sale. Once you start looking, you’ll probably be tempted to buy something for yourself!
Looking for a unique and durable gift? Try the line of paper (yes paper) bags from Italian company Essent-ial. These range from $28 for the small, up to $75 for large tote bags. Environmentally friendly, stylish and affordable!
Another unique gift is the All My Lov organic tea. Annie Aime has a variety of packages, from individual loose tea tins for $18, and boxes of assorted flavored teas for $27.
Interested in locally made body products? Try Crawford Street Skin Care – it’s all natural, and with products ranging from lip balm for $5 to body oils and lotions topping out at $45, a great gift for anyone!
Boxers in fun patterns from Mc Alson are a nice gift for a male friend. These are a European brand that you don’t see often in these parts, and will set you back approximately $59 a pair.
Don’t forget the children! There’s cute hats, socks and more for the tots. We were taken by the lovely gift set from French design firm Evelyn Prelonge for new additions, with super soft cotton-fur booties, pillow and blanket, that’s machine washable!
There is lots more for sale at Annie Aime, and they are having a holiday open house party next Saturday with 20% off clothes. Check it out for yourself at 42 Ossington.
