Business changes on Dundas West include closings and movement in a vacant space.
Gallery closed
Wil Kucey Gallery, at 1183 Dundas Street West as LE Gallery and then under its own name, is now closed. LE Gallery had been in the space since before we started our blog, back when the neighborhood was full of art galleries.
1183 Dundas West, which is between Get Well Bar and The Red Light, is empty and available to rent. Wil Kucey is still involved in the Canadian art scene, working at a gallery in Yorkville.
Renovations at 1203 Dundas Street West
A few doors further west along Dundas, the space formerly occupied by clothing store Jean Darlene is boarded up, likely undergoing renovations. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear what is taking over the space.
Health Food Store Closing
The health food store at Dundas and Grove, Flora Universal – Ervanaria Lagoa Azul, is closing and moving west. The store at 1227 Dundas Street West has posted signs that it is moving to 1461 Dundas Street West. Another space soon to be available for rent on Dundas Street West.
Tips Nail Bar Open on Dundas West
It’s not necessarily new, but we somehow missed mentioning it. Tips Nail Bar opened earlier this summer on Dundas Street West. The salon replaced the grocery store formerly at 1243 Dundas West, east of Dovercourt. Tips services include nails, facials, waxing, spray tanning and more.
