There’s a new general store, and a new place for coffee and snacks, in our neighborhood. Dundas General Store just opened today at 1239 Dundas Street West, and it’s half-cafe/half store.

The new coffee shop/store is located on the south side of Dundas Street between Grove and Dovercourt. 1239 Dundas West is a new condo building called Abacus Lofts. This streetfront space used to be a dispensary, and is next door to Lust for Lashes, and across the street from the LCBO.

Now open everyday except Mondays, this new retailer will provide a multitude of services. A café with coffee and espresso beverages – they also sell Toronto based Hale Coffee to go. In the morning, you can complement that coffee with pastries and croissant sandwiches. On weekends, they’ll be serving up cinnamon rolls and sticky dulce de leche rolls, so keep that in mind this Saturday.
At lunchtime, enjoy a prepared sandwich, wrap or salad, and follow it with one of a long list of baked goods, including cookies and brownies.
The café offers take-out and has tables inside, and outside in front of the building on Dundas West. In addition to the prepared foods in the café, they sell crackers, marinades, dips and more.
Dundas General Store sells more than food and coffee. Bags, housewares, accessories, tableware and more are for sale in store.
Check it out for yourself: the team is very friendly and the space is bright and cheerful. Hours are Tuesday – Friday from 8a-7pm, Saturday from 9a-6pm and Sunday from 9a-5pm.
