You burger lovers have reason to celebrate because this Wednesday, May 28 through Saturday the 31st is being designated Burger Week here in Toronto. More like a long weekend than a week, but during that 4 day period, restaurants across the city will offer a special $5 burger.
Each restaurant has a different offering, so try them all! The Burger Week website lists all the participating restaurants and their $5 burgers. The local spots which are offering $5 burgers are The Lakeview, Rock Lobster and Queen West spots The Gladstone and County General.
Rock Lobster’s burger fits the brand as it’s a Surf & Turf Burger: Kobe beef, spicy carrot cabbage slaw, and grilled shrimp. Sounds delicious!
The Lakeview’s burger is also appropriate for this popular comfort-food emporium. It’s called The Pickled Piper: Chuck patty with chili mayo and chopped dill pickle relish, and garnished with a deep-fried pickle.
The festival culminates with a party at Fort York called Burger Day at which the participating restaurants will offer their special burger as a slider. Burger Day is Sunday June 1st and tickets cost $20 and sliders cost $3 each.
