Up until recently the Ossington neighbourhood wasn’t known for it’s sports bars. There was Opera Bobs, but not much else. Things have changed and we now have a lot of options for sports.
Here’s a few of the choices for places to watch the big game Sunday. The kick-off is at 6:30.
Opera Bob’s is hosting their 5th annual party. Their Facebook page promises “Good eats, cold beer, and all the props you can handle!”
The Dock Ellis is doing their super gourmet versions of pub food with hoagies, wings and nachos. It promises to be busy and they aren’t taking reservations, so get there early.
Rock Lobster is turning the sound on on their TVs and doing what they do best – Lobster and Beer. They will be doing full lobsters for $25 and tall-boys for $5.
The Ossington is putting the show on the big screen and doing drink specials as well as a Superbowl chili and other snacks.
The Saint Tavern has some nice screens behind the bar and will be showing the game (and turning up the volume if there is interest in the room). On Sundays you can find buck-a-shuck oysters, $29 3-course roast dinner and, of course, they are participating in poutine week as we wrote earlier.
Reposado Bar has a big screen in El Norte, their side room to the north, and they’ll be showing the game also. Stop by and have some Sols, Coronas, and taste some tequila while enjoying the game.
