There are several local community-focused events this weekend you should know about!
Ward 19 Councillor Mike Layton kicks off Bike Month with his second annual Bike with Mike event. Held at Christie Pits Park on Sunday, there will be a lot of bike related activities, and a BBQ. Some of the things planned include free basic bike repair, a bicycling scavenger hunt through the Ward, and lots of fun for kids including face painting. Check it out at the park, this Sunday, May 27 between 12n-5p.
Two fundraisers in Trinity Bellwoods Park tomorrow include the annual Yard Sale for the Cure. Stop by after 8am and shop at this massive yard sale – anything you spend goes to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
The Hockey for Horizons charity event starts at 10am and includes softball and ball hockey, a BBQ and silent auction, all to raise money for Horizons for Youth, a Toronto shelter for homeless and at-risk youth.
